AEB is pleased to invite you to participate in the Conference titled “Kyoto Protocol Implementation”, which will be held on September 29, 2009 from 09:00 until 17:00, registration starting from 08:30, in the Hotel Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya, Grand Ballroom, Ul.Kalanchevskaya, 21/40, Moscow.
The conference is organized by the AEB Safety, Health, Environment and Security Committee jointly with the AEB Energy Committee and AEB Energy Efficiency Working Group.
Climate change is one of the most significant challenges the humanity has faced, affecting the fundamentals of the economic, social, and political life across the world. Our efforts to confront climate change and adapt to its unavoidable impacts are challenged by the uncertainties in the scientific forecasts, and the limitations in our understanding of the business, social and economic complexities of impact and response strategies. Next December almost all World leaders are gathering in Copenhagen to discuss the results of implementation of the Kyoto protocol and essential measures in order to prevent a major threat to the environment from climate change as well as develop new mechanisms for long-term response to global warming.
Thus, the aim of our open event in September is to discuss the business approach to implementation of the Kyoto Protocol in Russia and expectations from the post-Kyoto period. The conference will provide a platform for analysis and discussion of the implications of climate change issues on business, practicalities of carbon projects implementation, experience of private companies and international financial organizations. Speakers include representatives of the Russian authorities as well as experts from well-known European and Russian companies.
The working languages of the conference are English and Russian. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

Attendance fees
The registration fee for the Conference is 8,000 RUR (+ VAT 18%) for AEB members.
For non-members the fee is 9,000 RUR (+ VAT 18%).
Registration is open until Friday, September 25th, 2009. Your registration will be valid only upon receipt of payment.
