| In the interest of the AEB members, the Finance and Investment Committee has created a new Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Working Group in April 2009. The M&A Working Group works with various issues faced by AEB member companies in respect to mergers and acquisitions in Russia or by Russian companies in Europe. Here you can find a presentation of M&A WG.
AEB M&A Working Group's main goals and tasks
1) Lobbying:
- Lobbying Russian authorities to provide more transparent rules for M&A activities
- Providing support in 'complex' deals, e.g. of large size and/or politically sensitive
2) Information providing
- Providing European companies with the information they need to make acquisitions and divestments in Russia
- Stimulating Russian-European cooperation through providing non-biased information on Russia and minimizing perceived Russian country risk

3) Business networking:
- Organization of special meetings and events for the companies interested in M&A in Russia
- Special database of interested parties
4) Statistics:
- Plans for developing statistical tools for creating database(s)
