The purpose of the Committee is to represent, lobby the interests and maintain liaisons for the member airlines with government bodies on all levels, other relevant organisations and the public in general.

- To arrange regular monthly committee meetings to discuss issues of concern and mutual interest of Committee members;
- To arrange meetings with the Russian airports' authorities with the aim of improving and securing high, international standards for passenger, aircraft, cargo, mail, and other forms of ground-handling;
- To lobby the interests of foreign airlines at the governmental level, including Russian federal and regional authorities, ministries, the Presidential Administration and tax authorities. And, to seek where appropriate, the support of EU bodies both in Russia and abroad, embassies, trade and business organisations in defending the position of the AEB member airlines;
- To establish a common front to promote important airline issues, including the deployment of new technologies and industry standards in Russia;
- To cooperate with IATA, ICAO and other airline industry-related representations in the Russian Federation;
- To set up short-middle term, ad-hoc, and issue-driven working groups addressing various issues, until the issues are satisfactorily resolved or abandoned;
- To exchange information on the latest developments in the relevant local legislative, tax and other regulatory environments and areas affecting the airline business;
- To foster good relations and cooperation among the Committee members, arrange networking and social events.
